First Aid Buddies 10 week course at Unicorn

First Aid Buddies have arrived at Unicorn! We will be with you on a Monday afternoon for 10 consecutive weeks during the spring (excluding half term,) starting Monday 14th January and finishing on Monday 25th March 2019. We will be running after school, from 15:30 until 16:30.

FAB delivers first aid and safety training to year 5 and 6 pupils. Numerous life-saving skills are taught in a fun, upbeat and diverse way.

The course content will instil the importance of staying safe and helping someone who is poorly or injured.

The pupils will gain a sound understanding of risk and gather the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to make safe and informed decisions in an emergency.

The pupils will be given a FAB folder for their notes and work, a novelty pen and a CPR face shield attached to a key ring.

On the 25th March 2019 parents, carers and relevant staff will be invited to a pass out drill called ‘Calamity Street’ where the pupils can impress everyone with their acquired skills and then formally graduate as First Aid Buddies for the school. They will received their badges and certificates for all their hard work.
